These challenges require concerted and innovative responses. This partnership is part of that dynamic, mobilizing stakeholders for inclusive and sustainable solutions.<\/p>\n<p><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/afrique-ouest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2026\/04\/mou_wiso_gwp_ao_1-1.jpg\" height=\"480\" width=\"640\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Partnership Objectives<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The MoU aims to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Promote Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM)<\/b> as a strategic approach for equitable development.<\/li>\n<li><b>Strengthen community resilience<\/b> to climate risks and natural disasters.<\/li>\n<li><b>Enhance the ecosystem services<\/b> provided by wetlands, key drivers of stability and prosperity.<\/li>\n<li><b>Share knowledge and develop innovative solutions<\/b>, in synergy with international conventions (Ramsar, Paris Agreement, Sendai Framework).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This collaboration aligns with several <b>Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/b>, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>SDG 6<\/b>: Sustainable management of water and aquatic ecosystems.<\/li>\n<li><b>SDG 13<\/b>: Climate action.<\/li>\n<li><b>SDG 15<\/b>: Protection and restoration of terrestrial ecosystems.<\/li>\n<li><b>SDG 17<\/b>: Strengthening partnerships for development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/afrique-ouest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2026\/04\/mou_wiso_gwp_ao_2-1.jpg\" height=\"480\" width=\"640\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Concrete Initiatives Planned<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The two organizations commit to implementing joint actions such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Designing and implementing joint projects on wetland and water resource management.<\/li>\n<li>Promoting capacity building and knowledge sharing.<\/li>\n<li>Organizing workshops, seminars, and research programs for innovative solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/afrique-ouest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2026\/04\/mou_wiso_gwp_ao-1.jpg\" height=\"571\" width=\"1180\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Strong Voices for Lasting Commitment<\/b><\/p>\n<p>During the ceremony, <b>Mr. Sidi Coulibaly<\/b>, Acting Executive Secretary of GWP-WA, stated:<br> <i>\u201cAlone, we go faster; together, we go further. Today, we choose to go further, together, to build a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable West Africa.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>For his part, <b>Dr. Karounga Keita<\/b>, Regional Director of Wetlands International Sahel Office, emphasized:<br> <i>\u201cWetlands are ecological and socio-economic treasures. This partnership is a unique opportunity to join forces to preserve these vital ecosystems and strengthen the resilience of Sahelian communities.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>This partnership reflects the determination of both institutions to turn challenges into opportunities for populations and ecosystems, while aligning their actions with international commitments and regional
