Over two days, delegates validated the statutes and internal regulations of CRU-BV, adopted a three-year action plan, and defined mechanisms for financing and institutional recognition.<\/p>\n<p><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/afrique-ouest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2026\/04\/cru_bv_bko_ht-1.jpg\" height=\"300\" width=\"640\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>A Regional Board Elected for 3 Years<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The highlight of the meeting was the election of the <b>Regional Executive Board<\/b>, composed of thirteen (13) representatives from all six countries. <b>Mr. Etienne BELLO (Mali)<\/b> was elected <b>Chair<\/b> for a <b>three-year, non-renewable term<\/b>, in line with RCU-VB\u2019s principles of democratic rotation and inclusion. The Board\u2019s mission:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure cross-border coordination of users.<\/li>\n<li>Implement the adopted action plan.<\/li>\n<li>Represent communities in VBA decision-making bodies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/afrique-ouest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2026\/04\/cru_bv_bko_bureau-1.jpg\" height=\"300\" width=\"640\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Concrete Outcomes<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Statutes and internal regulations adopted.<\/li>\n<li>Capacity-building plan and action plan validated.<\/li>\n<li>Regional Executive Board installed and recognized by VBA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>RCU-VB is now a key player in influencing regional policies on water, land, forests, and livelihoods.
