Faced with the multiple challenges of water resource management with climate uncertainties in Sahelian countries such as Mali, hydro-agricultural and energy developments have been identified as an option for water management to ensure economic growth and consequently reduce the poverty index and a perspective of benefit sharing for all stakeholders.<\/p>\n
The main objective of this workshop was to launch the Nexus Water-Energy and Food Security concept in Mali and to sensitize national actors for its application in the planning of future projects related to water resources. <\/p>\n
Specifically, the workshop is expected to contribute to improving the knowledge of stakeholders involved in water resources management on the concept of Nexus Water-Energy and Food Security for Mali; initiate stakeholders in the process of defining the challenges and thematic priorities of the Nexus Water-Energy and Food Security sectors for Mali; have a network of Nexus Water-Energy and Food Security focal points at the level of sectoral departments and services concerned with sustainable water resources management, and identify pilot projects that could benefit from a more effective NEXUS approach.<\/p>\n
