\"\"The Forum gathered about 1,000 participants from the authorities of the Parliamentary Network for Drinking Water, the Hygiene and Sanitation Department, central and deconcentrated public technical services,, water agencies, local and territorial authorities (municipalities and regions), NGOs and national and international associations, eminent personalities from the national and international artistic, cultural, customary and economic circles, local water committees, associations of users and citizens involved at the local or national level, public, private or associative operators of water and sanitation services, donors, research and training institutions.<\/p>\n

\"\"The 2nd<\/sup> edition of the Water and Sanitation Trophies to award renowned institutions and individuals of the sector were organized as part of the Forum. It gathered hundreds of participants in the night of 2nd<\/sup> February 2018 under the patronage of the Prime Minister with the Larl\u00e9 Naaba Tigr\u00e9 as the special guest of honor.<\/p>\n

GWP WA supported both the Forum and the Trophies. The regional coordinator requested the Larl\u00e9 Naaba Tigr\u00e9, a very well-known traditional chief committed and engaged in sustainable development solutions and a political facilitator to be the patron of the CWP Burkina Faso. \u201cFor us, the patron acts like a torch, a key that opens doors that are closed to the CWP\u201d, explained Armand HOUANYE to the soon to be patron of the CWP Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n

\"\"The Larl\u00e9 Naaba TIGRE accepted the request and committed himself by saying \u201cI will put my modest image for the visibility of Global Water Partnership in Burkina and promise that in 2 or 3 months we will boost the platform everywhere in Burkina Faso\u201d.<\/p>\n

A commitment saluted by the participants by a big applause. This is a concretization of a recommendation of GWP WA\u2019s partners meeting of September 2017 asking CWP to profit from local political influencers to boost CWP visibility in the country.<\/p>\n
