GWP-WA and partners gather award winning journalists in Conakry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Laureats\" src=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/afrique-ouest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2026\/04\/laureats-1-1.jpg\" height=\"328\" width=\"640\">This is the fourth time this award is organized to reward the best print (including internet) news stories and audio (radio) programmes, on the theme &#8220;<i> Green Economy: which opportunities for the sustainable development and resilience in West Africa<\/i>?&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Two prices were under competition. The first one sponsored by GWP-WA and IUCN known as Continental water Award is for best print or radio story on sustainable development opportunities of the green economy and the second price \u201cMarine and coastal water Award\u201d is for best print or radio story on sustainable development opportunities of the green economy related to marine and coastal areas.<\/p>\n<p><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: left;\" alt=\"Idiatou\" src=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/afrique-ouest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2026\/04\/idiatou-1.jpg\" height=\"334\" width=\"250\">Idiatou CAMARA<\/b> of Guinea won the first price for Continental water award. She is a radio journalist working for the national radio station for 10 years. She is the CEO and founder of the web radio and site on environment and sustainable development in Guinea accessible on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.radioenvironnementgn.com\/\">www.radioenvironnementgn.com<\/a>. She holds a Masters\u2019 degree in environmental law and another one in commnucation and sustainable development from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis in France. She presented a 14-minute magazine entitled &#8220;L&#8217;or bleu de Guin\u00e9e levier pour une croissance durable de la sous-r\u00e9gion&#8221; (Guinea&#8217;s blue gold leverage for sustainable growth in the subregion) broadcast on August 19, 2017 on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.radioenvironnementgn.com\/\">www.radioenvironnementgn.com<\/a> . Idiatou is one the journalist who took part in GWP trainings from 2011 to 2013.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right;\" alt=\"Sane\" src=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/afrique-ouest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2026\/04\/idrissa-1.jpg\" height=\"286\" width=\"250\">Idrissa SANE<\/b> of Senegal won the first price for the second award for his press article, entitled &#8221; Protected marine area of the Bamboung: conservation revives fishermen and ponders&#8221; published on Saturday 9 September 2017 in the newspaper Le Soleil. Idrissa SANE is an environmental journalist graduated from the Cheick Anta DIOP University Center for communication and Information Studies (CESTI). He is one the participants to the GWP-WA annual training sessions for journalists that took place between 2007 and 2013.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: left;\" alt=\"Alexandra\" src=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/afrique-ouest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2026\/04\/alexandra-1.jpg\" height=\"263\" width=\"250\">The second winning prices went to <b>Alexandra DJOTAN<\/b> who is a journalist working for the regional radio station of the national ORTB in Parakou from Benin. She won the second price for the continental water award for her 15-minute radio magazine entitled &#8220;L&#8217;\u00e9conomie bleue un concept r\u00e9volutionnaire, la p\u00eache une r\u00e9serve d&#8217;implementation \u00e0 enjeux multiples au B\u00e9nin&#8221; (Blue economy, a revolutionary concept, fishing, a reservoir for implementation with multiple stakes in Benin), broadcast on Radio Parakou on 30 August 2017. She holds a diploma in business administration and Masters in Private law.<\/p>\n<p><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right;\" alt=\"Bah Kadi\" src=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/afrique-ouest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2026\/04\/kadidiatou-1.jpg\" height=\"225\" width=\"250\">Kadidiatou BAH<\/b> works for the rural radio of Guinea and holds a degree in information and communication.
