The International Union for Conservation of Nature Central Africa and West African Programme (IUCN\/ PACO) as part of its program “Partnership for environmental Governance<\/a>in West Africa <\/a>– <\/a>PAGE”<\/a>,<\/a>Global Water Partnership West Africa<\/a>(GWP \/ WA ) and the Regional<\/a>Partnership for the Conservation of coastal and marine zone in West Africa<\/a>(PRCM) as part of their respective work programs are launching the fifth edition of the “Water and Environment” media contest.<\/p>\n

 The price will reward the best print (including internet) news stories, cartoons, photos and audio (radio) programmes, on the theme “ “Water resources management: examples of good nature – based practices “.<\/b><\/p>\n

 Interested journalists can compete for one the following prices:<\/p>\n

Best print, cartoon, photo and radio programmes on some good examples of nature-based solutions of water resources management in 7 West African coastal countries. <\/p>\n

Open to the participation of journalists from Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Cabo Verde, Guinea et Guinea Bissau. <\/p>\n

1st<\/sup> price: participation to the 13th<\/sup> conference of the parties to the Ramsar convention from 21 to 29 October 2018.  <\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

 The first prize winners of each price, selected by a jury of professionals from IUCN -PACO, GWP \/ WA and PRCM will be invited to take part with total coverage of related fees into the Stockholm World Water Week from 26 to 31 August 2018 for the winner of the “continental water” prize and to the 13th<\/sup> Conference of the Parties to the Ramsar Convention from 21 to 29 October 2018 for the “marine and coastal water” competition.  . <\/p>\n

 The second place laureates will receive a cash price of FCFA 250,000.<\/p>\n

 Participants must be environmental journalists from a West African country and make productions on water and environment related issues, for a media organization either in English, French or Portuguese. <\/p>\n

 All candidates should send their participation file by email to clement.bihoun@iucn.org,<\/span> sidi.coulibaly@gwpao.org<\/span> and safietou.sall@iucn.org<\/span> by 2018, May 31st<\/sup>. Competing stories and programmes must have been published or broadcast in the media (newspaper, radio and internet) between 1st<\/sup> January and 31st<\/sup> May 2017.<\/p>\n
