The main achievements are:<\/p>\n
– The WACDEP regional team had email and telephone exchanges with the finance consultant based in the coordination unit in Stockholm;<\/p>\n
– Iterative exchanges were conducted with the VBA as part of the conduct of the activity;<\/p>\n
– Development with the support of the finance consultant of a concept note for developing a draft document for the establishment of “an early-warning system for Droughts, floods, inundations and diffusion of pollution” in the Volta basin;<\/p>\n
– Development of ToRs for the recruitment of a consultant at the regional level to support VBA in the process of “Project preparation and financing.” As part of this activity achieving a compilation and analysis of available data on the financing and preparation of regional projects, the consultant will provide for a needs assessment plan to strengthen the capacity of planners of various national and regional institutions and partners. The recruitment of a regional consultant will be done in December 2014.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
The WACDEP\/ West Africa team is supporting the Volta Basin Authority and regional partners institutions and partner governments to enhance project preparation and financing for climate resilience and water security projects. During the month of November this activity continued.
