Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) is 1 of 13 Regional Water Partnerships (RWPs) of the Global Water Partnership (GWP) Organisation, a worldwide network of partners all working to achieve sustainable water resources management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What makes GWP-C unique?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Some of the reasons why GWP-C is distinctive:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. It recognises that an integrated approach is necessary to manage finite water resources in order to satisfy the expanding and conflicting needs of different sectors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. It recognises that a multi-sectoral approach to managing water resources is crucial.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. It is dedicated to the principles of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. It recognises the importance of networking, knowledge sharing and co-operation particularly with respect to capacity-building; the documentation and dissemination of best practices; the promotion of public education and awareness; and the conduct of applied research and development in improving water governance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. It has the support of a global partnership which comprises of over 3,000 partners worldwide which is essentially a global network of stakeholders who all adhere to the principles of IWRM.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. The partnership is incorporated via Statutes in which principles for operation follow an IWRM philosophy and that of good governance.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
