Participants will be given an introduction to basic Geographic Information System (GIS) concepts with a focus on hydrological applications. This includes the registering, manipulation and analysis of spatial data sets using the ArcGIS software package. <a href=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/assets\/legacy\/globalassets\/global\/gwp-c-images\/gis-for-hydrological-technicians-outline-2015.pdf\">Download Course Outline<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Flood Hazard Mapping (October 5<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 30<sup>th<\/sup>, 2015)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This course focuses on the flood hazard mapping procedures. Participants will learn how to prepare data for flood analysis and will be given an introduction to flood hazard modelling and mapping using some basic functions and tool sets within ArcGIS. <strong>It is recommended that<\/strong> persons complete the GIS for Hydrological Technicians course before attempting the Flood Hazard Mapping course. <a href=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/assets\/legacy\/globalassets\/global\/gwp-c-files\/flood-hazard-mapping-outline-2015.pdf\">Download Course Outline<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Spaces for the courses are limited<\/strong><\/span>.
