Developed by national stakeholders from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago,&nbsp;during the workshop &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/caribbean\/news\/high-level-stakeholders-from-csids-reaffirm-commitment-to-integrated-water-resources-management-at-regional-sdg-6-5-1-workshop-organised-by-gwp-c-in-collaboration-with-unep-gog-and-g-crews\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Leveraging SDG 6 for Accelerated Water Investments in Caribbean SIDS<\/a>&#8221;&nbsp;these plans provide practical, actionable pathways for advancing SDG 6 implementation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each mini-action plan reflects national priorities and institutional contexts, while aligning with broader regional&nbsp;objectives&nbsp;on water governance, climate resilience, and sustainable investment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Priorities Emerging from the Mini-Action Plans<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Across countries, the mini-action plans converge around several priority areas critical for strengthening water security and accelerating implementation:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Governance reform and institutional strengthening<\/strong>\u00a0<br>Countries\u00a0identified\u00a0the need to clarify mandates, strengthen coordination mechanisms, and empower lead water institutions to reduce fragmentation and overlapping responsibilities.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Data systems and monitoring<\/strong>\u00a0<br>Strengthening water data systems is\u00a0a central\u00a0focus, including establishing data-sharing protocols, expanding water quality monitoring, and ensuring that existing data is translated into decision-relevant information.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Wastewater management and reuse<\/strong>\u00a0<br>Wastewater reuse has\u00a0emerged\u00a0as a pragmatic entry point for advancing IWRM implementation, with potential to deliver both environmental and economic benefits.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Financing readiness and investment alignment<\/strong>\u00a0<br>The plans highlight the importance of linking national water priorities to climate and development finance opportunities, including the Green Climate Fund and Caribbean Development Bank, as well as national adaptation investment frameworks.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>From Planning to Early Implementation<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mini-action plans are already informing early implementation efforts across the region. Countries are beginning to translate priorities into concrete actions,&nbsp;demonstrating&nbsp;momentum and national ownership:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Trinidad and Tobago<\/strong>:\u00a0Advancing watershed planning initiatives\u00a0through the development of\u00a0five watershed improvement plans. Furthermore, they have prepared a proposal on evaluation of water quality\u00a0in Lisas Bay in the Gulf of Paria.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Saint Vincent and the Grenadines<\/strong>:\u00a0Expanding water quality monitoring systems\u00a0with schools, community groups, environmental\u00a0organisations, and agencies for water quality assessments.\u00a0Furthermore, they are revising their effluent regulations\u00a0and Climate Resilient Water Sector Strategy and Action Plan with IWRM elements.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Grenada<\/strong>: progressing discussions on climate finance aligned with identified priorities.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Guyana:\u00a0<\/strong>Assessment of water availability in key basins.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These early signals underscore the value of&nbsp;the&nbsp;mini&nbsp;action&nbsp;plans as practical tools for guiding decision-making, strengthening coordination, and unlocking investment in the water
