As flagship species, sturgeons are key indicators of river connectivity, ecological integrity, and long-term river basin health.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GWP CEE participation as an Executive Committee member, and an Observer enables direct contribution to strategic coordination, priority setting, and alignment of conservation actions across the Danube Basin. This role supports the integration of species conservation\u00a0objectives\u00a0with broader river restoration, connectivity, and nature-based solutions of agendas. Engagement in DSTF strengthens transboundary cooperation and contributes to\u00a0knowledge exchange while\u00a0linking biodiversity protection, water\u00a0and sediment\u00a0management,
