The project&nbsp;establishes&nbsp;the Danube Sediment \u201cLighthouse\u201d Knowledge Centre, introducing advanced methods for monitoring and modelling sediment quantity and quality, and promoting innovative management practices to improve sediment continuity and reduce environmental risks. Through demonstration actions, stakeholder co-creation, and citizen engagement,&nbsp;iNNO&nbsp;SED supports evidence-based decision-making and transfers solutions to associated regions and other river basins.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-image uagb-block-ca51e028 wp-block-uagb-image--layout-default wp-block-uagb-image--effect-static wp-block-uagb-image--align-none\"><figure class=\"wp-block-uagb-image__figure\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/cee\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2026\/02\/1200x675-Innosed-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"uag-image-964\" width=\"1200\" height=\"576\" title=\"1200x675 Innosed\" loading=\"lazy\" role=\"img\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-6-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-374890fde916ab45374071f25081deed\"><strong>Project\u202fobjectives\u202f:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop and&nbsp;harmonise&nbsp;innovative methods for monitoring, modelling, and assessing sediment quantity and quality across the Danube River Basin.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve sediment continuity and sediment quality through co-created, nature-based,&nbsp;and technical solutions&nbsp;demonstrated&nbsp;in pilot areas.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establish&nbsp;the&nbsp;Danube Sediment \u201cLighthouse\u201d&nbsp;Knowledge&nbsp;Centre as a&nbsp;long-term&nbsp;platform&nbsp;for&nbsp;knowledge&nbsp;exchange,&nbsp;capacity&nbsp;building, and transfer of&nbsp;innovative&nbsp;sediment management&nbsp;practices.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthen&nbsp;stakeholders&nbsp;and public engagement, including&nbsp;policymakers, river managers, and citizens, to support coordinated and sustainable sediment management at basin and transboundary levels.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-6-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7516b97925e2edaada725e6fbd63aa23\"><strong>Role of GWP CEE in the project:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GWP CEE is a project partner responsible for co-leading of stakeholder engagement, communication, and policy-relevant knowledge transfer in&nbsp;iNNO&nbsp;SED. We contribute with&nbsp;expertise&nbsp;in participatory approaches, social sciences, and stakeholder dialogue to support co-creation of sediment management solutions with&nbsp;policy-makers, river basin authorities, civil society, and other key actors. GWP CEE supports communication, dissemination, and engagement activities, while&nbsp;organising&nbsp;summer schools and photo competitions among other activities. Through its regional network, GWP CEE facilitates cross-sectoral cooperation, supports uptake of project outputs, and contributes to the long-term impact and replication of innovative sediment management solutions beyond the project\u2019s lifetime.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-6-color has-text-color has-link-color
