On 24 March, the traditional Water Day Conference was held in Narva City Hall, Estonia, and broadcast online, gathering water professionals, authorities, and private sector representatives. Discussions focused on the availability and affordability of water services, particularly for smaller municipalities. Stakeholders highlighted the need for differentiated pricing mechanisms, allowing larger cities to support rural areas. The event also addressed challenges linked to introducing a fourth-stage treatment to remove pharmaceutical residues, which could create financial pressure for small utilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Water Governance\/Impact: <\/strong>The dialogue encouraged consolidation of approximately 130 water utilities to improve efficiency, strengthen investment capacity, and ensure equitable access to services.
