Organised by Global Water Partnership in Central and Eastern Europe (GWP CEE) and the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR), and coordinated nationally by GWP Bulgaria in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Water, the competition ran under the motto \u201cOur Danube \u2013 Our Future\u201d<\/i>.<\/p>\n

The Bulgarian national jury selected 14 outstanding works across different age categories, including artwork, photography and video. Winning entries were submitted to the international level, where young participants from across the Danube River Basin competed.<\/p>\n

At the international stage, the artwork \u201cWith the Danube in Our Heart \u2013 Looking Towards the Future\u201d<\/i> by Marina Katsarska and Nikola Katsarski received second place in the 12\u201318 age category, highlighting the strong engagement and talent of Bulgarian youth.<\/p>\n

Danube Art Master continues to be a powerful platform for raising awareness about water protection, encouraging environmental responsibility, and amplifying young voices in shaping a sustainable future for the Danube River.<\/p>\n

The initiative directly engaged young people, educators, national water institutions and cultural stakeholders involved in environmental awareness-raising. Through national and international juries and partnerships with public authorities.<\/p>\n

The reported activity aims to increase public awareness and youth engagement in water protection, fostering a new generation of environmentally responsible citizens. By encouraging creative expression and cross-border learning, it supports long-term behavioural change and contributes to stronger societal support for sustainable water governance and the protection of the Danube River Basin.<\/p>\n
