At the <\/span>outset<\/span> of the meeting<\/span>,<\/span> Prof. <\/span>Dr.<\/span> Martin <\/span>Volk <\/span>used the opportunity to welcome all the project partners<\/span>, <\/span>as well as to share the plan for the following week <\/span>which featured a well-balanced combination of activities, including plenary presentations on work package progress, interactive World Cafes, and open space sessions. <\/span>Dr.<\/span> Federica Monaco, <\/span>representing<\/span> the host institution, also shared a heartfelt welcome note.<\/span><\/span>

During <\/span>the first day, the <\/span>status and <\/span>progress of work packages<\/span> (WPs)<\/span>, from WP1 to WP4 has been shared <\/span>from the side of the WP leads. <\/span>It started with the presentation of the WP1 which is dedicated to case studies and <\/span>harmonized<\/span> multi-actor approach<\/span>.<\/span> The status of <\/span>engagement activities<\/span>, <\/span>draft paper on meaningful engagement, <\/span>and the <\/span>MARG workshop <\/span>situation were presented. In the scope of the WP2, it was presented what has been prepared in the scope of the measures and indicators<\/span>. <\/span>The presentation of the data retrieval and harmonization, <\/span>in the scope of <\/span>the WP3 was also held as well as the progress of WP4 dedicated to the integrated assessment of the Natural Small Water Retention Measures (NSWRM). <\/span>It<\/span> was then<\/span> followed <\/span>by<\/span> the case study presentations and the open space session. <\/span><\/span>

On the second day<\/span>,<\/span> the project partners could hear more about the progress <\/span>and plans for further implementation of activities in the scope <\/span>of <\/span>o<\/span>ptimization of <\/span>the <\/span>NSWRM<\/span>. <\/span>Colleagues also shared the status of the WP6 dedicated to synthesis and policy recommendations where they presented the current developments of deliverables D6.2 and D6.3. <\/span>It <\/span>was <\/span>followed <\/span>by<\/span> the joint presentation of case study leads and the modelers. <\/span>In the afternoon, three different <\/span>W<\/span>orld <\/span>C<\/span>af\u00e9 discussions were held on the topic of how to present and discuss <\/span>modeling<\/span> results, the project synthesis – guidelines for <\/span>o<\/span>ptimal <\/span>implementation of NSWRM, and the WOCAT Carbon Benefit Assessment. Further on<\/span>,<\/span> the open sessions were <\/span>held,<\/span> and the day ended with a tour <\/span>of<\/span> a beautiful <\/span>old part<\/span> of Bergamo City.<\/span><\/span>

During day three, the morning session <\/span>kicked off<\/span> with the presentations of the <\/span><\/span>WP7 which is focused on dissemination, communication<\/span>,<\/span> and the Learning Environment (OPTAIN educational platform in development) where participants could see and discuss <\/span>the online <\/span>version of the <\/span>L<\/span>earning <\/span>E<\/span>nvironment<\/span> platform<\/span>, of the <\/span><\/span>Summer School<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> and <\/span>its<\/span> outcomes,<\/span> as well as the plan in the scope of further<\/span> communication activities<\/span>. <\/span>W<\/span>ithin the presentation of the WP8, the plans in the scope of the next periodic report<\/span> were presented.<\/span><\/span>

The participants also had a chance to see the presentation <\/span>about <\/span>a partner Horizon project, the <\/span>WATERAGRI,<\/span> which was <\/span>given<\/span> by Prof. <\/span>Dr. <\/span><\/span>Rolf Larsson. Those presentations <\/span>were<\/span> followed by the continuation of presentations from the side of case study leads and case study <\/span>modelers<\/span>. The afternoon was dedicated to the <\/span>World Cafe<\/span> on OPTAIN<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s impact and focus on specific target groups, on the Learning Environment<\/span>,<\/span> and on the status <\/span>and <\/span>challenge s<\/span>of Task 4.5<\/span> which is dedicated to <\/span>the socio-economic assessment<\/span>. <\/span><\/span>The program<\/span> followed with the meeting of the WP leads who discussed <\/span>the <\/span>project<\/span> plans<\/span> for the next period<\/span>.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On the last day of the General Assembly meeting<\/span>, the <\/span>partners were delighted to have the opportunity <\/span>to visit <\/span>Endine<\/span> Lake where they had a chance to meet local stakeholders and <\/span>hear<\/span> more about the challenges they tackle with. <\/span>Afterward<\/span>s<\/span>,<\/span> they shortly visited <\/span>Gorlago<\/span> and stopped at the irrigation water diversion point. This gathering was set in the vicinity of Iseo Lake in the charming Italian town of Iseo.
