\u201c<\/span>Making agriculture resilient for climate change: Water scarcity, an opportunity for action and collaboration<\/span>\u201d<\/span> is the leading theme of this year\u2019s WASAG Forum<\/a> in <\/span>Praia, Cabo Verde, West Africa, <\/span>happening from <\/span>7<\/span> to <\/span>10 February<\/span>.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Following its launch during the UNFCCC\u2019s COP 21 in Marrakech Morocco in November 2016,<\/span> the Global Framework on Water Scarcity in Agriculture<\/span><\/span><\/a> (WASAG) has steadily received recognition and mandate to support countries in finding solutions to cope with climate change in agriculture in the face of climate change.<\/span> 

<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Emerging<\/span> from its foundational years, WASAG held <\/span>its<\/span> <\/span><\/span>first international forum<\/span><\/span><\/a> with the theme: “<\/span>Leaving no one behind”<\/span> from 19 to 22 March 2019 in Praia, Cabo Verde, where the partners \u2013 under the leadership of the six WASAG working groups \u2013 developed and adopted <\/span><\/span>the Praia Commitments<\/span><\/span><\/a>. <\/span> 

<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

With the contribution of its 70 partners, WASAG has since developed its <\/span>strategy for 2021-2024<\/span><\/span><\/a>. <\/span>WASAG is set to further play a greater role in developing collaborative actions as solutions to the increasing challenges posed by climate change and the resulting water scarcity, in order to make agriculture more resilient.<\/span> The second WASAG international forum, which is again hosted by the Government of Cabo Verde <\/span>provides<\/span> the setting for this step<\/span>.  <\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/span>

The forum aims to promote and position agriculture at the core of climate change discussions in view of the forthcoming events and beyond:<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
