water retention measures"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The purpose of the video is to provide some basic information about the purpose and benefits of the small water retention measures \u2013 a topic which is becoming very popular in the last few years.<\/p>\n<p>Small retention is an adaptive measure within the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gwp.org\/en\/The-Challenge\/What-is-IWRM\/\">Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM)<\/a><strong> <\/strong>as it serves to adjust to extreme climate variability; specifically, it helps retain water in the land during wet periods and slows down flood waves during flood periods.<\/p>\n<p>GWP Central and Eastern Europe is exploring the Small Water retention measures in a&nbsp;demonstration project within the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gwp.org\/en\/GWP-CEE\/IDMPCEE\/\">Integrated Drought Management Programme in CEE (IDMP CEE)<\/a>, a&nbsp;joint programme of Global Water Partnership (GWP) and the World
