{"id":2715,"date":"2013-03-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-03-04T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/cee\/news\/2013-irf-european-riverprize\/"},"modified":"2026-04-25T08:13:29","modified_gmt":"2026-04-25T07:13:29","slug":"2013-irf-european-riverprize","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/cee\/archive\/2013-irf-european-riverprize\/","title":{"rendered":"2013 IRF European Riverprize"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The IRF European Riverprize&nbsp;will celebrate successful approaches that have overcome the challenges to river restoration, ecosystem health, water quality and climate change within the social and political context of the European continent.<\/p>\n<p>Timeline for 2013 Riverprize<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applications open <strong>10 October 2012<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Stage one applications close <strong>29      March 2013<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Shortlisted applicants notified <strong> mid April 2013<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Stage two applications close <strong>31      May 2013<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Finalists announced <strong>early July      2013<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Riverprize winners in each      category will be announced in <strong>September 2013<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Judged by a panel of European experts and administered from the IRF Europe office in Vienna, the first IRF European Riverprize will be awarded in 2013 &#8211; International Year for Water Cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>The prize will be awarded at the European Centre for River Restoration annual conference in Vienna. assessed based on a documented river management framework, evidence of social and economic gains, an integrated approach to river management, long-term vision and demonstrated, outstanding achievements in river ecology.<\/p>\n<p>The European winner will qualify as an automatic finalist in the Thiess International Riverprize&nbsp;the following
