Global Water Partnership Central Africa (GWP-CAf) works to ensure a water-secure future for the region by promoting sustainable, inclusive, and climate-resilient water management. As part of the global Global Water Partnership network, we support countries and partners in addressing water challenges through collaboration, innovation, and strategic investments.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A Multi-Stakeholder Platform for Action<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of our work is our role as a neutral and inclusive platform. We bring together:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Governments and public institutions<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Civil society organisations<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Research and academic institutions<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Development partners and donors<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    This multi-stakeholder approach enables dialogue, coordination, and joint solutions to complex water challenges across the region. By connecting over 200 partners across Central Africa, we facilitate cooperation at national, regional, and transboundary levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Climate change is intensifying water-related risks such as droughts, floods, and ecosystem degradation. GWP-CAf supports countries to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Integrate water security into National Adaptation Plans (NAPs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Develop climate-resilient water projects and investments<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Strengthen early warning systems and risk management<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Improve drought and flood management strategies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Through initiatives like the Water, Climate and Development Programme, we help build technical capacity and unlock financing for climate-resilient solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Promoting Gender Equality in Water and Climate Action<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      We are committed to a gender-transformative approach in water and climate resilience. This means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Ensuring women’s voices are included in decision-making<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Addressing the specific vulnerabilities and needs of women and marginalised groups<\/li>\n\n\n\n
