{"id":3369,"date":"2014-11-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-11-17T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/centroamerica\/news\/la-aplicacion-del-spi-para-la-sequia\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T08:56:39","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T07:56:39","slug":"la-aplicacion-del-spi-para-la-sequia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/centroamerica\/archive\/la-aplicacion-del-spi-para-la-sequia\/","title":{"rendered":"La aplicaci\u00f3n del SPI para la sequ\u00eda"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>En el evento participaron <span>servicios meteorol\u00f3gicos e hidrometeorol\u00f3gicos de Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Belice y Republica Dominicana, y se llev\u00f3 a cabo con el apoyo <span>Comit\u00e9 Regional de Recursos Hidr\u00e1ulicos (<\/span><span>CRRH<\/span><span>).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>Patricia Ram\u00edrez, Secretaria Ejecutiva del CRRH, mencion\u00f3 <em>\u201ccon el apoyo de GWP Centroam\u00e9rica, hemos estado fortaleciendo las capacidades de los grupos a nivel de la regi\u00f3n y de pa\u00eds, para aplicar \u00edndices que permitan monitorear la sequ\u00eda. Cuando empezamos esta alianza se puso como meta que para finales de 2014 se tendr\u00eda un grupo t\u00e9cnico de trabajo regional que analizar\u00eda los temas de la sequ\u00eda de forma com\u00fan. Hoy puedo decir que s\u00ed falta por hacer, pero hemos avanzado en consolidar dicho equipo y se est\u00e1 trabajando en generar estos escenarios del \u00cdndice de Precipitaci\u00f3n Estandarizado (SPI) y podemos decir que es la nueva herramienta que usa el Foro del Clima\u201d.<\/em><\/blockquote>\n<p>Fabiola T\u00e1bora, Secretaria Ejecutiva de GWP Centroam\u00e9rica, record\u00f3 como <em>se ha ido fortaleciendo esta alianza con el CRRH con miras a fortalecer los servicios meteorol\u00f3gicos de la regi\u00f3n en el monitoreo de la sequ\u00eda y se identific\u00f3 al SPI como una de las mejores herramientas. Aunado a ello dijo que est\u00e1n conscientes de que al trabajar por la sostenibilidad del agua es imperante observar fen\u00f3menos como la variabilidad clim\u00e1tica porque impacta la calidad de vida de la poblaci\u00f3n y se relaciona con la seguridad alimentaria, motivo por el cual le est\u00e1n apostando a fortalecer dicho proceso.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: left; margin: 5px;\" src=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/centroamerica\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2026\/04\/patrones_sequia-1.jpg\" alt=\"Patrones de sequ\u00eda en Centroam\u00e9rica\" width=\"120\" height=\"155\">En el evento se distribuyo el informe <a href=\"https:\/\/gwpo-gwp.org\/assets\/legacy\/globalassets\/global\/gwp-cam_files\/patrones-de-sequia_fin.pdf\">Patrones de sequ\u00eda en Centroam\u00e9rica. Su impacto en la producci\u00f3n de ma\u00edz y frijol y uso del \u00cdndice Normalizado de Precipitaci\u00f3n para los Sistemas de Alerta Temprana<\/a>, que GWP Centroam\u00e9rica elabor\u00f3 junto con la Agencia Suiza de Cooperaci\u00f3n (COSUDE) y el Comit\u00e9 Regional de Recursos Hidr\u00e1ulicos (CRRH), sobre la caracterizaci\u00f3n de la sequ\u00eda para aportar al conocimiento de la sequ\u00eda en la regi\u00f3n centroamericana, sus patrones e impactos, especialmente en la seguridad alimentaria y nutricional (SAN) de la poblaci\u00f3n relacionada con el consumo y la dependencia del ma\u00edz y frijol como principales fuentes de alimentaci\u00f3n y medios de vida.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Se organiz\u00f3 un segundo taller sobre el uso del \u00edndice estandarizado de precipitaci\u00f3n (SPI), como una herramienta de monitoreo de la sequ\u00eda para la regi\u00f3n centroamericana.
