On behalf of GWP China, Dr. Dong Zheren, the Standing Vice Chair and Mr. Zheng Rugang, the Coordinator, attended the meeting. Mr. Zheng addressed to the opening ceremony of the forum and Dr. Dong made a presentation entitled \u201cthe Naturalization of Urban Rivers\u201d contributing his academic research achievements to the forum. Prof. Liu Shukun from China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research also gave a presentation. After the two key presentations; there were some key-note speeches and reports presented by other water- related organizations of Hebei Province.<\/p>\n
Around the issues of urban water environment building and management, the delegates and experts of the department of water, urban construction, science and technology, forestry and agriculture conducted deep discussions and reached common understanding as follows:<\/p>\n
1) the building of urban water environment requests a reasonable plan with the consideration of optimal allocation of water resources;<\/p>\n
2) the building of urban water environment should be supported with sufficient funding and operative management system;<\/p>\n
3) the building of urban water environment must play a functional role in flood control for the city safety;<\/p>\n
4) the building must be optimized by wider dissemination of city culture;<\/p>\n
