Dr. Tian Shimin<\/strong>, Division Director of YRIHR and a preeminent Henan science communicator, captivated the audience with an insightful account centered on the Yellow River’s conservation, governance, and cultural tapestry. His discourse comprehensively traversed four pillars: the river’s geographical expanse, the evolution of river management philosophies, modern-day stewardship strategies, and the intricate bond between its culture and historical heritage. This not only deepened the students’ appreciation for their mother river but also ignited a passion within them to preserve, perpetuate, and promote the Yellow River’s rich cultural legacy. Furthermore, it fostered a profound sense of national unity and bolstered their cultural confidence.

Dr. Li Tao<\/strong>, Deputy Division Director from YRIHR, captivated the students’ imagination with a captivating presentation on the digital twin system of the Yellow River. Employing vivid visuals and real-world examples encompassing remote sensing, IoT, water modeling, big data, and AI, he illuminated the intricacies of this advanced framework. The students’ enthusiastic engagement underscored the lecture’s transformative potential, igniting aspirations to excel academically and contribute to China’s aspiration of becoming a scientific and technological leader.<\/p>\n

An interactive Q&A session with the experts further energized the atmosphere, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas. The seamless integration of culture and science in this lecture left a lasting impression, underscoring their intrinsic harmony.

Additionally, GWP China Yellow River Basin co-sponsored a lecture at the Yellow River Museum<\/strong>, signaling a commitment to organizing diverse initiatives aimed at propagating the scientific spirit and fostering a deeper understanding of both science and culture among the public.<\/p>\n

As a part of the annual thematic campaigns, GWP China Yellow River Basin aims at ‘Enhancing Public Comprehension of Scientific Knowledge.’ Since its inception in 2020, this initiative has gained significant momentum, reaching out to a crucial segment of society – school students aged 6 to 15. The efforts have yielded tangible results, with an impressive outreach that has consistently touched upon the lives of 500 students every year. This achievement underscores their commitment to fostering a generation of young individuals who are not only aware but also well-equipped with scientific knowledge, enabling them to contribute positively to societal development and environmental sustainability. GWP China Yellow River Basin remains steadfast in the pursuit of expanding the scope and impact of these campaigns. It aspires to reach even more schools and students, ensuring that the benefits of scientific literacy extend to every corner of the region.<\/p>\n
