An online webinar on “Mobilising Finance for Coastal Adaptation in the  Mediterranean” is scheduled for 29 October 2024, from 09.00 -16.15 CET. <\/p>\n

The webinar will take place in the context of the GEF MedProgramme SCCF Project<\/a>  and the EU Water & Environment Support (WES) Project, and is jointly hosted by Plan Bleu\/RAC (UNEP\/MAP), EU WES<\/a> and Global Water Partnership-Mediterranean (GWP-Med).  <\/p>\n

It aims to strengthen understanding on climate adaptation financing, including from private sources, and to foster institutional support for coastal climate risk assessments in investment decisions towards promoting resilience and sustainable economic growth in the Mediterranean region. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Among others, it will serve as a preparatory event for the SCCF\/WES Regional  Roundtable on Catalysing Financing for Climate Change Adaptation in the Mediterranean, 2-3 December 2024, Athens, organised by the same partners. <\/p>\n

The webinar will be held in English and French, and targets all MedProgramme SCCF Project and EU WES Project countries. Topics of mobilising finance for coastal adaptation, including with private sector engagement, will be presented based on experiences and recent reports and assessments prepared by the SCCF and WES projects. Furthermore, specific reference will be made to lessons learned from ongoing MedProgramme activities on the pilot sites in Kotor Bay, Montenegro and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, Morocco. <\/p>\n

Un webinaire en ligne sur la \u00ab Mobilisation des financements pour l’adaptation c\u00f4ti\u00e8re en M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e \u00bb est pr\u00e9vu le 29 octobre 2024, de 09h00 \u00e0 16h15 CET.<\/p>\n

Le webinaire aura lieu dans le contexte du projet SCCF du MedProgramme du FEM<\/a> et du projet Water & Environment Support (WES) de l’UE, et est organis\u00e9 conjointement par le Plan Bleu\/RAC (PNUE\/PAM), EU WES<\/a> et Global Water Partnership-Mediterranean (GWP-Med).<\/p>\n

Il vise \u00e0 renforcer la compr\u00e9hension du financement de l’adaptation au climat, y compris le secteur priv\u00e9<\/span><\/span>, et \u00e0 favoriser le soutien institutionnel pour l’\u00e9valuation des risques climatiques c\u00f4tiers dans les d\u00e9cisions d’investissement afin de promouvoir la r\u00e9silience et la croissance \u00e9conomique durable dans la r\u00e9gion m\u00e9diterran\u00e9enne.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Il servira notamment d’\u00e9v\u00e9nement pr\u00e9paratoire \u00e0 la table ronde r\u00e9gionale du SCCF\/WES sur le financement catalytique de l’adaptation au changement climatique en M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e,<\/span><\/span> les 2 et 3 d\u00e9cembre 2024, \u00e0 Ath\u00e8nes, organis\u00e9e par les m\u00eames partenaires.<\/p>\n

Le webinaire se tiendra en anglais et en fran\u00e7ais, et s’adresse \u00e0 tous les pays du projet MedProgramme SCCF et du projet EU WES. Les th\u00e8mes de la mobilisation des financements pour l’adaptation c\u00f4ti\u00e8re, y compris avec l’engagement du secteur priv\u00e9, seront pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s sur la base des exp\u00e9riences et des r\u00e9cents rapports et \u00e9valuations pr\u00e9par\u00e9s par les projets SCCF et WES. En outre, une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence sp\u00e9cifique sera faite aux le\u00e7ons tir\u00e9es des activit\u00e9s en cours du MedProgramme sur les sites pilotes de la baie de Kotor, au Mont\u00e9n\u00e9gro, et de la r\u00e9gion de Tanger-T\u00e9touan-Al Hoceima, au Maroc.<\/p>\n
