La conf\u00e9rence r\u00e9unira des repr\u00e9sentants des pays de l\u2019Union du Maghreb Arabe (UMA) et du G5 Sahel (G5S), \u00e0 savoir l\u2019Alg\u00e9rie, le Burkina Faso, la Libye, le Mali, le Maroc, la Mauritanie, le Niger, le Tchad et la Tunisie.<\/p>\n

L\u2019objectif de la conf\u00e9rence est de soutenir l\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration de la mise en \u0153uvre des actions d\u2019adaptation li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019eau dans le cadre des Contributions D\u00e9termin\u00e9es au niveau National (CDN) pour assurer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 hydrique et atteindre les Objectifs de D\u00e9veloppement Durable (ODD) dans les pays de la r\u00e9gion. Plus sp\u00e9cifiquement, la conf\u00e9rence a pour objectifs :<\/p>\n

1. la consolidation des connaissances des pays en outils et approches d\u2019\u00e9valuation des impacts et des vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9s au CC et la priorisation des actions d\u2019adaptation,<\/p>\n

2. le partage des exp\u00e9riences et des bonnes pratiques en mati\u00e8re de conception et de mise en \u0153uvre des projets \u00e0 co-b\u00e9n\u00e9fices (adaptation & mitigation) dans le secteur de l\u2019eau,<\/p>\n

3. la diss\u00e9mination de l\u2019information sur les opportunit\u00e9s de financements pour appuyer la mise en \u0153uvre des engagements des pays d\u00e9finis dans les CDN et les ODD.<\/p>\n

La conf\u00e9rence est organis\u00e9e par les partenariats r\u00e9gionaux du Global Water Partnership respectivement pour la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e (GWP-Med)<\/a>, l\u2019Afrique de l\u2019Ouest (GWP-WA)<\/a> et l\u2019Afrique Centrale (GWP-CAf)<\/a>  conjointement avec l’Organisation Islamique pour l’Education, la Science et la Culture (ISESCO)<\/a>, le fonds des Nations Unies pour l\u2019Enfance \u2013 Bureau pour l\u2019Afrique de l\u2019Ouest et du Centre (UNICEF WAC)<\/a> <\/b>et L\u2019Organisation des Nations Unies pour l\u2019\u00e9ducation, la science et la culture \u2013 Bureau Multipays de l\u2019UNESCO pour le Maghreb (UNESCO)<\/a>  en collaboration avec le Centre National des Ressources en Eau – Minist\u00e8re de l\u2019Hydraulique et de l\u2019Assainissement en Mauritanie (CNRE)<\/a> et la Commission Nationale Mauritanienne pour l\u2019Education, la Culture et les Sciences (CNECS).<\/p>\n

Regional Conference on Financing water related Projects for the implementation of NDCs and SDGs<\/b><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/b><\/p>\n

The Regional Conference \u201cFinancing water related adaptation Projects for the implementation of NDCs and SDGs: Challenges, perspectives and Opportunities\u201d, will take place on 24 and 25 April 2018 in Nouakchott-Mauritania.<\/b><\/p>\n

The event will bring together representatives of the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) and G5 Sahel (G5S) countries, namely Algeria, Burkina Faso, Libya, Mali, Morocco, Mauritania, Niger, Chad and Tunisia.<\/p>\n

The aim of the Regional Conference is to support the acceleration of the implementation of water-related adaptation actions within the framework of the Nationally Determined Contributions (CDN) to ensure water security and to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the region\u2019 countries. More specifically, the conference aims to:<\/p>\n

1. Consolidate countries’ knowledge of tools and approaches for assessing impacts and vulnerabilities to CC and to prioritize adaptation actions,<\/p>\n

2. Share experiences and good practices in the design and implementation of co-benefits projects (adaptation & mitigation) in the water sector,<\/p>\n

3. Disseminate information on funding opportunities to support the implementation of the countries commitments defined in the NDCs and SDGs.<\/p>\n

The event is organized by the Regional partners of the Global Water Partnership respectively for the Mediterranean (GWP-Med)<\/a> , West Africa (GWP-WA)<\/a>  and Central Africa (GWP-CAf)<\/a>  jointly with the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO)<\/a> , and the United Nations Children’s Fund – Office for West and Central Africa (UNICEF WAC)<\/a> and the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture Multi-Country Office for the Maghreb (UNESCO)<\/a> in collaboration with the National Center for Water Resources – Ministry of Hydraulics and Sanitation in Mauritania (CNRE<\/a>) and the Mauritanian National Commission for Education, Culture and Science (CNECS).<\/p>\n
