2017 marks the 2nd year that a dedicated MENA Regional Focus is part of the Stockholm World Water Weeks\u2019 programme, alongside the regional days for Africa, Asia and Latin America. The overall coordination of the MENA Focus has been entrusted to GWP-Med that works closely with key regional partners, each leading targeted sessions, to ensure that the region\u2019s priorities are duly reflected in the Water Week\u2019s programme.\n

In line with this year\u2019s theme \u201cWater and waste \u2013 reduce and reuse<\/i>\u201d, and further to the overall coordination of the MENA Focus, GWP-Med will convene a dedicated session on \u201cInvestment potential in wastewater treatment and reuse<\/i>\u201d. The session aims to take stock of the needs, efforts and challenges in the MENA region regarding sustainable financing and the enabling environment for attracting investments -including through PPPs- in the area of wastewater treatment and reuse, as well as of best practices and lessons learnt. Input will be provided from representatives of national governments, regional organisations, financing institutions, private sector and independent experts. Benefits from synergies with the Nexus approach and national climate actions will also be explored.<\/p>\n

The session is organised within the framework of the regional project \u201cGovernance & Financing for the Mediterranean Water Sector<\/i>\u201d. The project, designed and implemented jointly by GWP-Med and OECD, is supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and has been formally labelled under the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) political framework.<\/p>\n

  2017 marque la 2\u00e8me ann\u00e9e qu’une d\u00e9di\u00e9e Focus r\u00e9gionale MENA fait partie du programme de la Semaine Mondiale de l’Eau de Stockholm, aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des journ\u00e9es r\u00e9gionales pour l’Afrique, l’Asie et l’Am\u00e9rique latine. La coordination globale de MENA Focus a \u00e9t\u00e9 confi\u00e9e \u00e0 GWP-Med qui travaille en \u00e9troite collaboration avec des partenaires r\u00e9gionaux cl\u00e9s. Chaque partenaire m\u00e8ne une session cibl\u00e9e, afin de s’assurer que les priorit\u00e9s de la r\u00e9gion sont d\u00fbment refl\u00e9t\u00e9es dans le programme de la Semaine de l’eau.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Conform\u00e9ment au th\u00e8me \u00abEau et d\u00e9chets – r\u00e9duction et r\u00e9utilisation<\/i>\u00bb de cette ann\u00e9e, et suite \u00e0 la coordination g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de MENA Focus, GWP-Med convoquera une session d\u00e9di\u00e9e sur \u00abLe potentiel d’investissement dans le traitement et la r\u00e9utilisation des eaux us\u00e9es<\/i>\u00bb. La session vise \u00e0 faire le point sur les besoins, les efforts et les d\u00e9fis dans la r\u00e9gion MENA concernant le financement durable et l’environnement favorable pour attirer des investissements – y compris par le biais de PPP – dans le domaine du traitement et de la r\u00e9utilisation des eaux us\u00e9es, ainsi que des meilleures pratiques et des le\u00e7ons apprises. Les repr\u00e9sentants des gouvernements nationaux, des organisations r\u00e9gionales, des institutions financi\u00e8res, du secteur priv\u00e9 et des experts ind\u00e9pendants fourniront des contributions. Les avantages des synergies avec l’approche Nexus et les actions climatiques nationales seront \u00e9galement explor\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

La session est organis\u00e9e dans le cadre du projet r\u00e9gional “Gouvernance et financement pour le secteur m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en de l’eau<\/i>“. Le projet, con\u00e7u et mis en \u0153uvre conjointement par GWP-Med et l’OCDE, est soutenu par l’Agence Su\u00e9doise de Coop\u00e9ration Internationale pour le D\u00e9veloppement (Sida) et a \u00e9t\u00e9 officiellement lab\u00e9lis\u00e9 dans le cadre politique de l’Union pour la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e (UfM).<\/p>\n
