Reference to the Conference has been made in the <strong>Cairo Ministerial Declaration<\/strong> (November 20th, 2006), where the Euro-Mediterranean Ministers of Environment notably \u201curge banks, other financial institutions and Clean Tech Venture Capital Funds to participate in this endeavour\u201d. Investments are in particular expected in the <strong>urban and industrial waste water treatment <\/strong>and <strong>waste management sectors<\/strong>, which are the most crucial for tackling land-based pollution in the Mediterranean.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of the Conference was to gather <strong>key-players involved in the Horizon 2020 initiative <\/strong>to explore <strong>the ways of involving the private sector<\/strong> in support of the initiative.<\/p>\n<p>The Conference was organized by the <strong>GWP-Med<\/strong>, jointly with the <strong>European Partners for Environment (EPE)<\/strong>, the <strong>Institut Mediterraneen de l&#8217;Eau (IME)<\/strong> and <strong>MedCities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>???For further information, please find attached the
