The <\/span>webinar<\/span> featured Global Water Partnership (GWP) partner from Russia, <\/span>Agro<\/span> Eco Veda Club represented by Pavel <\/span>Kargashin<\/span>, the Director Science of Club <\/span>Agro<\/span> Eco Veda<\/span>.<\/span>Local <\/span>government representative from City of Denpasar<\/span>–<\/span>Bali,<\/span> Ms <\/span>Cokorda<\/span>Istri<\/span>Mirahyani<\/span>, also joined along<\/span>and explained<\/span> the water management challenges in the <\/span>Tukad<\/span>Rangda<\/span> River, Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>webinar<\/span> started with opening remarks from Mr Christopher Matthew Ilagan, GWP SEA Chairman, follow<\/span>ed<\/span> by <\/span>a setting-the-scene presentation by <\/span>Mr Fany Wedahud<\/span><\/span>itama from Water Stewardship Indonesia <\/span>who shared<\/span> on risk and innovation toward climate change adaptation. As the audiences were warming up on the topic, Mr Pavel <\/span>Kargashin<\/span> presented <\/span>Agro<\/span> Eco Veda Club\u2019s innovation on the social project Remediation of the River <\/span>Tukad <\/span>Rangda<\/span> in the city of Denpasar, an innovation to clean the urban section of the river <\/span>and<\/span> the surrounding residential areas from wastewater<\/span> pollutants. The program also incl<\/span>uded<\/span> the <\/span>organization of urban enterprises <\/span>for the production of<\/span> plant and animal products<\/span>,<\/span>by <\/span>using nutrients from the treated wastewater, with local engagement <\/span>from<\/span> government, private <\/span>sector<\/span> and academia in Bali.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The presentation was then followed up with panel discussion, <\/span>moderated <\/span>by Louise<\/span> Desrainy<\/span> (<\/span>Interim Regional Coordinator GWP SEA<\/span>)<\/span> featuring panellist: Andr\u00e9 <\/span>Villa\u00e7a<\/span> Ramalho <\/span>(<\/span>Water Resilience Coalition Coordinator<\/span> and <\/span>UNGC -CEO Water Mandate) and <\/span>Dr.<\/span>Harya<\/span>Muldianto<\/span>, ST, MT <\/span>(<\/span>Director of Water Resources Infrastructure Financing Implementation at the Directorate General of Public Works and Housing Infrastructure Financing, Ministry of Public Work Indonesia<\/span>)<\/span> along with Q & A session with the audiences. <\/span>Each <\/span>panelist<\/span> shared their improvement feedback to help <\/span>GWP-SEA <\/span>partners<\/span> such as <\/span>Agro<\/span> Eco Veda<\/span> in searching innovative financing to support such project and how <\/span>they can<\/span>build<\/span>good <\/span>portfolio<\/span> to attract investor. <\/span>Andr\u00e9 shared the importance of <\/span>developing strong <\/span>business case for company to invest in the sustainability projects, such as <\/span>the volumetric water benefit of the project (<\/span>e.g<\/span> USD\/m3 or beneficiaries)<\/span>; <\/span>also,<\/span> the importance of considering the maintenance of the innovative solutions. Dr. Harya shared <\/span>some <\/span>government program in <\/span>collaborating with<\/span> partners <\/span>and private entities through Public Private Partnership (PPP). He introduced the PPP scheme for water resources infrastructure financing in Indonesia<\/span>and example of successful projects that were already implemented in Indonesia.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Agro<\/span> Eco Veda Club and GWP-SEA are welcoming other stakeholders to collaborate in the future in Southeast Asian countries.
