To deliver its work in the region, GWPSA is based on a substantial network of partners and collaborators working together to promote Integrated Water Resources Management and create a water secure future for the countries of the region.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

GWPSA Governance Structure<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

To deliver its work in the region, GWP-SA has a governance structure with four distinct organs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • The Country Water Partnerships<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The Regional Steering Committee<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The Regional Technical Committee<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The Regional Secretariat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Consulting Partners (CP): <\/strong>This is the highest decision-making body of the Partnership, consisting of its entire membership and provides direct input through the CP meetings. Members have the right of voice and to vote. Groups of Partners within the CP may organise themselves at the country level as Country Water Partnerships (CWPs)<\/strong>. The relationship between the regional water partnership and CWPs is guided by the GWP Conditions of Accreditation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Regional Board of Directors (Regional Steering Committee): <\/strong>Headed by Chair, the Regional Board of Directors steers the operations of the Partnership. It has direct representation from the Country Water Partnerships (CWPs) <\/strong>selected on expertise by the CP based on their resumes as well as direct nomination by CWPs to the Board<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Secretariat<\/strong>: A secretariat is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and administration of the GWP-SA programme activities. It is supported by the Regional Technical Committee (RTEC), <\/strong>which provides technical backstopping to the Secretariat and the Partnership as a whole.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The roles and responsibilities of these structures and lines of communication and accountability across them are laid down in GWPSA\u2019s Constitution. Along with its governance system, GWPSA has put in place management systems and operational procedures to support its programming efforts. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
