These CCAs established that <\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW143231435 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\">the population in the <\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW143231435 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\">BUPUSA Tri-basin<\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW143231435 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"> is vulnerable to a combination of social, economic, and environmental factors that interact with climate change. The degradation of land, coupled with the effects of climate change, results in lower yields. This forces people to expand cultivation into marginal areas such as steep slopes, riverbanks, and wetlands.
