This participation of ReNOKA at the symposium has been funded by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), through the GIZ Support to Integrated Catchment Management (ICM) programme.<\/p>\n

The delegation of ReNOKA at the csymposium is made up of the ICM Coordination Unit and the implementing partners, Global Water Partnership \u2013 Southern Africa (GWPSA), NUL Water Institute, WaterNet and BUSARA and they are be led by ICM Deputy Coordinator \u2018Mats\u2019olo Migwi. Other partners FAO and CRS will join the symposium virtually.<\/p>\n

At the symposium, under the theme of \u201cIntegrated Water Resources Management for Sustainable Development in East and Southern Africa,\u201d ReNOKA will highlight the measures and practices being implemented in integrated catchment management (ICM) to restore land and water in Lesotho.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, ReNOKA will convene a session on \u201cEmergency measures and the operationalisation of the compendium of soil and water management measures for Lesotho\u201d showcasing the efforts and innovative approaches implemented by the national ICM programme in restoring the degraded land and protecting water sources in Lesotho. The session will be chaired by Mrs Setlhako Mahlalele, GIZ Transboundary Water Management programme.<\/p>\n

The session is aligned to the sub-theme on Water, Ecosystems and the Environment and it will discuss the issues of emergency rehabilitation measures in the sub-catchments as well as the impact of investment climate analysis, resource mobilization and the learning journeys on the improvement of the livelihoods and the ecosystems.<\/p>\n

ReNOKA (\u2018we are a river\u2019) is a national programme and citizen movement for the restoration of land and water in Lesotho and the Orange-Senqu basin. Support for ReNOKA is provided through a partnership between the Government of Lesotho, the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
