The Conference will take place from the 26 \u2013 28 September 2018 at Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre in Johannesburg with a theme \u201cAdapting to Climate Change in the SADC Region through Water Security \u2013 A Focus on Groundwater.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

The Southern African Development Community \u2013 Groundwater Management Institute (SADC-GMI) will host the conference in partnership with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization \u2013 International Hydrological Programme (UNESCO-IHP), the International Groundwater Assessment Resource Centre (IGRAC) and the Global Water Partnership \u2013 Southern Africa (GWP-SAF).<\/p>\n

The overarching objective of the conference is to create a platform for key players in the water sector, specifically in groundwater to collectively share knowledge, success stories and groundwater challenges that impact the region and the continent at large, while ensuring that groundwater agenda is aggressively pitched to promote adaptation to the worsening impacts of Climate Change.<\/p>\n

The conference will bring together SADC Member States, Governments, Regional Institutions, the Private sector, Academia, Scientific Community, Civil Society and Media from the region and beyond.<\/p>\n
