Webinar: From Consumption to Impact – Applying Water Footprints in Practice

The Danida Fellows Water Community, in collaboration with Danida Fellowship Centre, Global Water Partnership, and Water Footprint Network, will host an upcoming webinar titled “From Consumption to Impact – Applying Water Footprints in Practice.” The online event will take place on 24 March at 14:00 CET and aims to explore how water footprint approaches can be used to better understand and manage water use and its broader impacts.

The webinar will bring together experts and practitioners working in the field of sustainable water management to discuss practical applications of water footprint assessments. Participants will gain insights into how water consumption patterns translate into environmental and socio-economic impacts, and how water footprint methodologies can support decision-making in policy, planning, and resource management.

Through presentations and discussions, the session will highlight real-world examples of applying water footprint concepts in different sectors and regions. The event also aims to foster knowledge exchange among professionals, researchers, and Danida fellows within the Danida Fellows Network and their wider water community.

By focusing on the transition from measuring consumption to understanding impact, the webinar will emphasize the importance of integrating water footprint thinking into strategies that promote sustainable and equitable water use.

The event is open to members of the water community interested in advancing practical approaches to water sustainability and strengthening collaboration across sectors.
