The Global Water Partnership Organisation (GWPO) has officially opened its intergovernmental Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for signature by new Governments and States — for the first time in over 20 years.
As of 2 June 2025, Governments and States are invited to join GWPO as members — formally known as Sponsoring Partners — by signing the MoU at any of the following diplomatic locations: Stockholm (Sweden), Pretoria (South Africa), and Geneva (Switzerland).
“This is a moment to shape history, not to observe it. Because the future of water is not just a technical matter. It’s a test of our global governance, solidarity, and shared ambition.”— Hon. Pablo Bereciartua, Chair of GWP
This marks a historic opportunity to shape global water policy as part of the Global Transformation Agenda on Water Investments. This agenda seeks to leverage at least US$15 billion in water investments by 2030, supported by an initial mobilisation of US$500 million for water security in the Global South.
