Vision
A water secure world — GWP-WA shares the overall vision of the Global Water Partnership network, aiming for a future where water is managed sustainably, equitably, and efficiently for people, ecosystems, and economies.
Mission
- To support countries in the sustainable development and management of water resources at all levels
More specifically, GWP-WA’s statutes define its mission as:
- Building alliances and strengthening institutional capacities of members.
- Encouraging and supporting research networks, expertise, and information on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).
- Promoting sustainable development through IWRM at national and watershed levels.
- Supporting the establishment and actions of Country Water Partnerships (CWPs) across the subregion to facilitate IWRM implementation.
This mission and vision emphasize collaboration, capacity building, and integrated approaches to water governance, ensuring that West Africa can tackle challenges of climate resilience, water security, and sustainable development.
