About Global Water Partnership China

The Global Water Partnership China (GWP China) serves as a neutral platform, facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogue and knowledge exchange at all levels. It actively promotes Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) knowledge, mobilizes resources, and supports the implementation of China’s ‘strictest water resources management system’. The vision is for a water secure world.

To strengthen IWRM dissemination and leadership, GWP China and its provincial/river basin water partnerships have expanded their outreach. Beyond ongoing activities such as workshops, forums, policy dialogues, and field visits, they have introduced diversified channels—including targeted training, guidance sessions, and digital sharing—to make IWRM principles more accessible and actionable for broader audiences. Knowledge products and capacity-building initiatives are also consistently updated to remain relevant and practical.

As of December 2025, GWP China has 199 institutional members, over 3000 individual members, and 9 branch organizations.
