The CACENA region can geographically be subdivided into two sub-regions: The Southern Caucasus (three countries – Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia), and Central Asia (six countries – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Mongolia).

About Global Water Partnership-Central Asia and Caucasus

The Global Water Partnership Central Asia and Caucasus (GWP CACENA) is an integral part of the Global Water Partnerships network. 

Established in 2002, GWP CACENA is a regional network comprises 9 Country Water Partnerships with 168 Partners. The mission of GWP CACENA is “to support CACENA countries in the sustainable management of their water resources”. The GWP CACENA helps the region to solve difficult inter-state water resources issues as well as the countries to develop an Integrated Water Resources Management approach in policies and practices.
