Assembly Partners

The main decision-making body.
A broader consultative forum bringing together all stakeholders.
Provides input into regional strategies and reviews progress.
Meets periodically (every two years) to strengthen accountability and inclusiveness.

Chairperson

Elected to lead the RSC.
Provides political and institutional leadership for the partnership.

Regional Steering Committee (RSC)

Composed of representatives from governments, civil society, research institutions, and the private sector.
Oversees strategic direction, approves work plans, and monitors implementation.
Manages regional network between two Assembly of Partners.

Regional Secretariat (Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso)

Serves as the operational hub.
Coordinates programs, partnerships, and resource mobilization.
Provides technical and administrative support to Country Water Partnerships (CWPs).

Country Water Partnerships (CWPs)

National-level platforms in member states.
Ensure local ownership and alignment with national water and climate priorities.
Feed into regional discussions and strategies.

Link to Global Water Partnership Organization (GWPO)

GWP-WA is one of 13 regional partnerships under GWPO.
Aligns with global strategies while tailoring actions to West Africa’s context.
