In commemoration of the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought on 17th June, this webinar brings together global partners to explore how to scale investment in drought resilience.
Drought is no longer a future risk, it is a growing reality affecting ecosystems, economies, and communities worldwide. Yet despite increasing awareness of the urgent need for drought resilience, investment in drought preparedness and long-term adaptation remains critically insufficient.
Hosted by UNCCD, Global Water Partnership, The Nature Conservancy, and the ELD Initiative, this 90-minute session connects real-world solutions with the finance needed to scale them.
What to Expect
This interactive session brings together practitioners, financiers, policymakers, and development partners to move beyond discussion and toward action.
Participants will:
- Hear lightning pitches from field-based initiatives from various countries and regions, as well as selected cases from the Investing in Drought Resilience case study competition
- Gain insights from financing institutions and partners on what makes drought resilience projects bankable
- Explore key barriers that continue to limit investment, and how to overcome them
- Engage in a candid dialogue on how to move from promising local solutions to scalable investment pipelines
Looking Ahead
This webinar marks an important step in a shared journey by partners toward UNCCD COP17 where efforts will continue to strengthen investment pipelines, foster partnerships, and support drought resilience solutions ready for scale.
