The two workshops are being organised by Togo’s Ministry of the Environment and Forest Resources (MERF), in collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Global Water Partnership in West Africa ( GWP-WA) as part of the implementation of the PREE project. They aim to: (i) present the current provisional version of the framework law on the environment to local stakeholders and encourage them to take ownership of it; (ii) encourage local stakeholders to make observations, comments and recommendations to improve the quality of the framework law on the environment.
The first regional workshop was opened on 5 September 2022 at the Hôtel Etoile de la Kozah in Kara, Togo, by Lieutenant-Colonel Komla DETSE, Regional Director for the Environment and Forest Resources in Kara.
A total of 38 participants are taking part in the Kara workshop.
