The Azerbaijan Water Partnership was created as formal network of 16 organizations (governmental authorities, design, research, academic and educational institutions and NGOs) to facilitate process of the National IWRM Plan development and further its practical implementation. The Azerbaijan Water Partnership is acting under the aegis of the Public Association “Center of Environmental-Land Reclamation Monitoring – SAF SU” registered officially on 30 July 2003.  Â
The Azerbaijan Water Partnership is playing the key role in awareness campaign addressed to the main IWRM principles among politicians, water professionals and organizations, and public organizations dealt with water issues. The Limited Company “Land Reclamation and Water Management of Azerbaijan” and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources play a key role in practical implementation of IWRM principles.Â
The main attention is paid to facilitating policy dialogues on IWRM implementation (in the form of intersectoral seminars and roundtables). This is a basis for exchange of experiences among the sectors and provinces, and also for dissemination of advanced knowledge about all aspects of IWRM summarized by GWP (TEC papers, ToolBox, CapNet manuals, CACENA regional papers and reports, etc.). The Azerbaijan Water Partnership cooperates closely with the international programmes and projects (USAID, UNDP, and others), addressed to implementation of the IWRM principles.Â
