The Kyrgyz Republic Water Partnership was established on 19 January 2008. The process on creation of organization was started by Kyrgyz members of the Regional Technical Consulting Committee in 2002 and then was continued by the GWP CACENA Regional Council members.Â
Today the Kyrgyz Republic Water Partnership is a formal network of 19 accredited partner institutions registered at the GWP Secretariat. These partners represent water sector, agriculture (irrigation, water user associations), environment, economy, research institutes, national organizations and NGOs. The main goal is to provide a platform for all stakeholders interested in IWRM implementation to solve water problems at the regional and national level on the basis of transparency, impartiality and solidarity.Â
The principal attention is paid to the following directions:Â
– IWRM principles implementation in the country;Â
– Understanding of IWRM not only among decision makers, but  the public in large;Â
– Resolution of interagency and cross-sector conflicts in the process of the water resource management and utilization.  Â
