To commend organizations and individuals who have made outstanding achievements in scientific and technological innovation regarding the conservation, protection, exploitation and management of water resources, GWP China has launched its proprietary Science and Technology Award. This initiative stands as a key milestone in GWP China’s development, and also represents a significant breakthrough in China’s science and technology incentive system for the water resources sector.
The Organization’s Science and Technology Award comprises five categories: Natural Science Award, Science and Technology Progress Award, Technological Invention Award, Outstanding Contribution Award, and Youth Science and Technology Award. Reviews and selections are conducted on an annual basis.
Among them, the Natural Science Award, Science and Technology Progress Award and Technological Invention Award are set with First, Second and Third Prizes. A Special Award may also be granted to candidates with exceptionally remarkable contributions. The Outstanding Contribution Award and Youth Science and Technology Award have no hierarchical grades, and are designed primarily to honor individuals who deliver exceptional results in water resources research and support the country’s major strategic needs.
A formal circular on the award application and selection will be issued soon. We welcome outstanding research achievements and talented professionals across relevant fields to actively submit applications and recommendations.
Guided by the relevant guidelines of the Ministry of Water Resources of China and in strict accordance with the award management measures, GWP China will stay committed to prioritizing innovation, standardizing award operations, and maintaining impartial evaluation procedures. We will endeavor to build a reputable, influential science and technology award brand in the water resources field, galvanize innovation momentum in water conservancy science and technology, and bolster the high-quality development of the water conservancy industry.
