Structure of Organisation

Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe (GWP CEE) is part of a global multi-stakeholder network advancing integrated water resources management for a water-secure world.
Our governance structure includes Partners, Country Water Partnerships, a Regional Council, and a Regional Secretariat based in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Membership is open to organizations actively engaged in sustainable water management. GWP CEE currently collaborates with more than 200 Partner organizations across 9 countries in the region.

There are 9 active Country Water Partnerships in the following countries: Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. These networks bring together government institutions, academia, civil society, and the private sector to promote dialogue, cooperation, and innovation in water governance.

Regional Council

The Regional Council is the highest decision-making body of GWP CEE. It represents the 9 Country Water Partnerships and is chaired by the elected Regional Chair.

The Regional Secretariat ensures the coordination and effective implementation of the regional work programme in close collaboration with the Regional Council and Country Water Partnerships. The secretariat is located in the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute in Bratislava.
