DANUBE4all is a Danube Lighthouse Horizon Europe project that aims to support the restoration of the Danube River Basin by mobilising science, policy and society. The project aims to develop and implement a Danube River Basin Restoration Action Plan, promoting nature-based solutions, integrated river basin management and citizen engagement to improve biodiversity, climate resilience and water security across the Danube region.

  • Develop and test nature-based solutions for river and floodplain restoration.
  • Strengthen cooperation between science, policy and society.
  • Engage citizens and young people in river restoration through participatory approaches.

GWP CEE co-leads the project’s dissemination and exploitation activities, ensuring that DANUBE4all results, tools and knowledge reach policy makers, practitioners, civil society and the wider public across the Danube Region. It is responsible for the development and delivery of the online course on river restoration, which builds capacities of water professionals, stakeholders, and young experts in applying nature-based solutions and integrated river basin management. In addition, GWP CEE actively contributes to citizen engagement activities, supporting participatory approaches, stakeholder dialogues, and community involvement to ensure that restoration actions are socially inclusive and locally relevant.
