GWP Romania Secures Funding Opportunity for Urban Permaculture and Expands Partnerships

GWP Romania submitted three funding applications under two different calls to expand nature-based solutions and environmental learning initiatives. Two proposals were submitted to the “Green Areas” programme funded by MOL Romania and the Partnership Foundation, under the Urban Permaculture and Protected Natural Areas components. The Urban Permaculture proposal was recommended for funding and has moved to the pre-procurement phase, marking an important step toward implementation. Additionally, GWP Romania joined partners in submitting a proposal under the SoS2LearnDBS call funded by Horizon Europe, focusing on education and ecosystem protection in the Danube Basin. The evaluation process has recently closed and results are pending.

Water Governance/Impact: The recommended project will introduce sustainable urban green practices, improve climate resilience, and strengthen stakeholder collaboration. The initiative is expected to benefit local communities through biodiversity enhancement, environmental education, and improved water retention in urban areas.
