The SLO4D initiative represents a major step toward digital transformation in Slovenia’s water and environmental governance. It aims to integrate fragmented spatial, environmental, and water-related datasets into a unified and interoperable digital infrastructure. This system connects information on rivers, groundwater, flood and drought risks, water infrastructure, and environmental monitoring to support more coordinated and efficient decision-making.

By enabling data sharing across institutions and sectors, SLO4D strengthens transparency, improves planning processes, and supports climate-resilient water management. It reflects a broader shift toward data-driven governance and integrated resource management in response to increasing environmental pressures.

GWP Slovenia promotes digital innovation and knowledge exchange in water governance, supporting approaches that enhance data integration, transparency, and evidence-based decision-making across the Danube Region.
