LAREDAR – First Year Review and Partner Meeting

From 12–14 May 2026, partners of the LAREDAR project gathered in Ljubljana, Slovenia, for the First Year Review and Partner Meeting to assess progress achieved during the first year of implementation. Discussions focused on the development of the LAREDAR GIS tool and online platform aimed at strengthening the role of lakes and reservoirs in flood risk management across the Danube River Basin. Partners advanced work on hydraulic modelling, transnational cooperation mechanisms, and scenario development to improve understanding of reservoir impacts on flood protection and water management. The meeting also included exchange of good practices and stakeholder engagement activities.

Role of GWP: GWP CEE, leader of communication activities, supports knowledge exchange and regional cooperation within the LAREDAR project, contributing to improved flood risk management approaches in the Danube Region. Through stakeholder engagement and dissemination activities, GWP strengthens the project’s impact and promotes integrated, data-driven water management solutions.
