D-CLEAN: Report on stakeholder needs and survey results
Needs and challenges in sustainable wastewater and stormwater management in the Danube Region
How can small settlements in the Danube Region move towards more sustainable wastewater and stormwater management? To better understand real needs on the ground, D-CLEAN collected input from almost 200 stakeholders across the region, including municipalities, water utilities, public authorities, researchers and technical experts.
The results highlight common challenges such as ageing infrastructure, limited investment, governance gaps and the need for more practical support in applying sustainable and nature-based solutions. These findings will directly inform D-CLEAN’s pilot activities, capacity-building actions, decision-support tools, roadmaps and policy recommendations.
