      Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe (GWP CEE), Lead Partner of the D-CLEAN project, invites water professionals, municipalities, local authorities, policymakers, researchers and other interested stakeholders to the second webinar in the six-part D-CLEAN webinar series.

      Entitled ā€œGreening the Danube Region: Identifying Nature-Based Solutions for Wastewater and Stormwater Management in Small Settlements,ā€ the webinar will take place online on 19 October 2026, from 13:30 to 15:00 CET. Participation is free of charge.

      Moving from challenges to solutions

      Building on the findings of the first D-CLEAN webinar, which mapped the current state of wastewater and stormwater management in small settlements across the Danube Region, the second webinar shifts the focus from identifying challenges to exploring practical solutions.

      The session will introduce key findings from the newly developed D-CLEAN Catalogue of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). The catalogue features approximately 20 fact sheets presenting nature-based approaches applicable to wastewater and stormwater management in small settlements.

      Participants will learn about:

      • different Nature-Based Solutions for wastewater and stormwater management;
      • their applicability under varying local conditions;
      • their key benefits and limitations; and
      • practical requirements for their implementation.

      The webinar will combine expert presentations with interactive discussions, providing participants with an opportunity to exchange experiences and explore which Nature-Based Solutions may be most relevant to their own local contexts.

      Who should attend?

      The webinar is particularly relevant for water professionals, local and regional authorities, municipalities, wastewater practitioners, policymakers, researchers and other stakeholders working on wastewater and stormwater management, Nature-Based Solutions and integrated water resources management.

      Through the D-CLEAN webinar series, project partners aim to strengthen knowledge exchange and cooperation across the Danube Region and support small settlements in identifying sustainable, locally appropriate approaches to water management.
