In May 2026, GWP Slovenia initiated the establishment of the Water Network of Slovenia, a new collaborative platform for integrated water management. The network brings together professional organisations, associations, civil society, and other stakeholders to address increasingly complex water challenges driven by climate change, land-use pressures, and ecosystem protection needs.
The platform aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, strengthen cooperation between science and practice, and support evidence-based policy development. It emphasizes public participation and transparent governance, positioning water as a shared common good and encouraging inclusive decision-making processes across sectors.
GWP Slovenia leads the development of the Water Network, facilitating stakeholder engagement, interdisciplinary cooperation, and the creation of a permanent platform for integrated and participatory water governance.
